Why is easySeed® a sensible alternative to conventional planting?
easySeed® enables reforestation directly on the site—without planting pits, machines, or labor-intensive planting crews. The seedling grows at its target location from the outset, forming a stable root system and making it less susceptible to drought stress or transplant shock. Application is flexible, cost-effective, and possible over large areas—even by drone.
How do I calculate the seed requirement for my site?
The requirement depends on the tree species, sowing method (ground or surface sowing), and target number of trees.
As a guideline:

We are happy to assist you in calculating your exact requirements.
Do I need to procure the seed myself?
No. We can take care of the entire seed procurement process—including selection, testing, stratification (if necessary), and production.
However, you can also provide your own seeds, provided they meet the quality requirements.
What happens after sowing?
After application, easySeed® begins to swell when there is sufficient moisture, slowly dissolves, and releases seeds. The seedling takes root directly in the forest soil—without transplanting or stress. The coating may contain additional nutrients or microorganisms that support growth. The young plant thus grows in a manner appropriate to its location and climate from the outset.
How should easySeed® be stored to maintain its germination capacity?
General rule:
- Store cool (2–10 °C), dry, and dark – depending on species
- Unstratified pellets: storable for several months
eaasySeed® with stratified seeds (i.e., pre-germinated or germination-stimulated):
- only short-term storage (a few weeks; exact timing provided case-by-case)
- Sow as soon as possible after delivery, as germination has already been stimulated
Where is easySeed® manufactured?
easySeed® is manufactured at our facility in Brandenburg, in the Berlin area.
Is easySeed® also delivered abroad?
easySeed can be shipped anywhere within Europe; this is already standard practice for us. Within the EU, this is also not a problem in terms of customs regulations.
However, specific requirements regarding regionally adapted provenances and the sensitivity of certain seeds (e.g., germination onset after stratification, temperature) must be taken into account.
Handling is especially smooth if the customer provides seed with the desired provenance and all relevant data/documentation.
